Interfaith Education Centre

The Interfaith Education Centre is part of Education Bradford's Diversity and Cohesion service and works in conjunction with the team to promote community cohesion. Schools are also supported in meeting their statutory duty to provide Religious Education and Collective Worship.

 

The staff at the Interfaith Education Centre includes an advisory teacher for Religious Education and a team of Faith Tutors and associates representing the six major world religions.

This team is able to support schools within and outside Bradford Metropolitan District, through:

  • Visits to places of worship: Visit Enquiry Form.
  • Workshops /  lessons and adult  training to promote religious and cultural understanding.
  • Collective worship.
  • Separate faith worship...more.
  • Festival celebration assemblies in schools
  • Advice and guidance on issues relating to RE, worship and cultural diversity...RE guidance. 
  • A library of resources relating to RE, collective worship, PSHCE and Community Cohesion… Illustrative Teaching Materials.
  • Publications promoting religious and cultural understanding...RE Agreed Syllabus Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

The Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) meets regularly at the Interfaith Education Centre. These meetings are open to the public.
