Admissions

The Admissions Team deal with allocations to reception and year seven, in-year admissions and also the appeals process.

We offer advice and guidance to parents and other agencies regarding the availability of school places and all other admission enquiries.

We also provide advice and guidance concerning current and new legislation relating to admissions and ensure that statutory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the schools admission and appeal codes.

In-Year Applications from September 2010

From September 2010, all local authorities must co-ordinate applications for all children living within their area.  Parents living within the Bradford district wishing their child to transfer school at any point in the school year and in any year group will need to complete a common in-year application form (available below). Unless families are completely new to the district, parents will be required to give their reasons for wanting their child to transfer school, they will need to ask the current school to complete part of the form before it will be processed. The form allows parents to apply for up to three schools and, after liaison with the preferred school(s), the decision letter will be sent by Education Bradford.

Fair Access Protocol (FAP)

All Local Authorities are required to operate a Fair Access Protocol (FAP) which ensures that school places are secured quickly for most vunerable children who are missing education and to ensure that all schools in an area admit their fair share of pupils with significant challenging behaviour.  The protocol has been developed in line with DfE requirements as set out in the 2009 School Admissions Code and following consultation with the Admissions Forum and headteachers
